“Jamie was so kind, positive, and patient and managed our four young kids very well during our photo session. We love how our photos turned out and are very grateful to have these beautiful moments captured! I especially love how our photos reflect our kids’ genuine smiles and expressions. Thank you, Jamie and Shayla Tiare Photography, for such a great experience!”

a little more about me
I LOVE TEACHING:
When I was in the 6th grade, I had to choose two careers and write a report about them. I chose to be a photographer and a teacher. I wish I still had a copy of that report. It stuck with me and never wavered. I’ve been fortunate enough to live both dreams! I homeschooled my oldest daughter for four years, I am a yoga and dance instructor, and I generally love teaching people things I know how to do.
I’M MOST THANKFUL FOR:
My support system. I have some amazing humans who show up for me, push me, encourage me, and call me out when it’s necessary. There is my chosen family that are my sounding board and partners in crime. My mom who is my steady presence and number one fan. And my kids… ooof, there are not words. All four are thriving adults whose company I genuinely enjoy. They are my best friends and my biggest cheerleaders. I can not express how proud I am of who they’ve become, or how grateful I am that they still like hanging out with me.
MY FAVORITE HOBBY:
I am a dancer. I began ballet very young and started partner dancing in college. My heart and soul live in Latin dance, but I also dance most ballroom and country styles, as well as West Coast Swing, Zouk, and Kizomba.
I also love painting with watercolor, cooking, yoga, board games and cards, and just about anything that requires me to be outside.
IF I WASN’T A PHOTOGRAPHER…
I strongly considered going back to school to become a natural health practitioner. I’m deeply fascinated by the body’s ability to heal itself when it’s given the right support and environment. I’ve also explored the idea of opening a yoga or wellness center.
